Since 1983 we have provided safe haven for resident wildlife and sanctuary to cast-a-way cats, dogs and farm fowl. When we decided to hang up our shepherd's crook, after 25 years raising commercial and purebred sheep, we didn't want the barns and pastures to go unused. We decided to fill them with special horses that needed a home.
Before the last of the sheep flock was relocated to Rhode Island, a crippled mini horse (Marnie), a quarter horse draft cross with chronic lameness and back problems (Ben), and a paso fino with an 'attitude' and metabolic problems (Damien) took up residence in the recently vacated weaned lamb barn.
